If they ever want to turn this mess around and fast then they ( the Fed) not the banks (who won't loan any money), better get money into the buyers hands directly lending to qualified buyers and investors, those with a hisory of high FICO scores and responsible cash management skills. If they want asset values to increase then they have to create the means that demand can be met. The corporations have already kept the salaries of the average worker down so long they cannot possibly afford the high house prices so either they will have to keep coming down or wall street and corporations will have to pony up some raises for the working class. If the banks keep sitting on the money and no one can qualify on their lousy incomes, coupled with the fear of falling prices its a ride to the bottom for everyone. I sure hope someone is listening
